Columbus Landmarks Foundation's Historic Tavern Tours return with a "mystery tour" featuring three new watering holes: a traditional neighborhood bar that has been quietly in existence for over 50 years; an up-and-coming tavern with a somewhat "shady" past and historic tie to Columbus as a "foodie" town; and a new bar/restaurant residing in an 1890s tavern. This tour is offered May 10, June 14, July 19 (all sold out) and August 16 (available). Advance tickets are required - $25 for Columbus Landmarks members/$30 for non-members. Drinks are not included in the price of the tour, but sparkling narration, historic gossip, and architectural knowledge of the taverns and their environs is cheerfully included. Time at each tavern for enjoying the atmosphere before you board a shuttle and head to the next stop.

The tour begins at 6 p.m. -- meet at the northeast corner of Mound and High under the cantilevered overhang of the Subway/Marriages Done here businesses! A shuttle bus will transport the group from one watering hole to the next, returning to the starting point. Parking is available in several area public lots and garages and on-street metered parking.
